THE COACHING RELATIONSHIP
A Brief Overview
Coaching, for me, is a profession that has synthesized the best from the arenas of psychology, business, communications, mentoring, counseling, consulting, sports, transformation, philosophy, spirituality, and finance.
What is the “secret” behind successful people from sports to entertainment, business to politics? People like Michael Jordan, Oprah Winfrey, Eleanor Roosevelt, Jeff Oxendine,Ron Newdoll, Paul Newman, Anthony Robbins to Mike Robbins, Francis Garcia to John Wooden, Albert Einstein, Larry Bird, Joseph Campbell to Jesus Christ, Sir John Templeton, and Gandhi?
They all had a coach or a mentor to guide them to discover their strengths and to reach their true potential. Behind every successful person is someone who mentors them, believes in them, and challenges them to be more. Napoleon Hill, the famous author of Think and Grow Rich emphatically acknowledges the enormous role Andrew Carnegie played in mentoring him on his path to success. There are countless stories of how mentors and coaches have inspired people to live their ultimate dreams. When you stop and think about it…if you truly want to be successful, having a coach makes a lot of sense.
What do truly successful people have in common? They all have a coach! They don’t attempt to be “Lone Rangers.” Who can you discuss your concerns and uncertainties with?
Coaching involves working with individuals in a way that evokes excellence in them. Coaching is not something new. Athletes and other top performers have long used coaches in order to succeed and excel. When a person retains a coach, he or she is gaining a person committed to them succeeding in the program upon which the two of them agree. The person begins altering and redirecting behavior with profound, satisfying and lasting results.

What do we work on in our coaching relationship?
- Business planning – Mission and values clarification
- Financial Vision and Plan
- Integration of your business and personal life to create balance
- How to take a project from start to completion
- Turning around a difficult situation
Each period of time agreed upon, the coach will give you “homework.” These are tasks, actions, results or changes you will commit to completing before our next meeting. The homework is designed to get you to take action on what we are working on and to integrate it into your life.
Who works with a coach?
The CEO, Executive, or individual that needs to be set in a stronger direction, turn itself around and increase profitability. The individual that wants a balanced life. The individual who wants to be a leader.
Entrepreneurs who want to increase their sales and profits. Entrepreneurs who want to turn their companies around. Entrepreneurs who are having financial difficulties, accumulating problems with key staff, or their business is just moving too fast. Entrepreneurs who want to delegate more effectively, take better care of themselves, streamline operations, have a sounding board for new ideas, and to live a more balanced and fulfilled life. Together we create a strategic plan to make the most of the resources you have.
The Person in Transition – People who are starting, turning around or upgrading a small business. People who have a very big goal they want to reach. People who are up to something and thinking about changing!
How can you get started?
No sales pitch will be made because I have no need to sell my services to you. Coaching is not something that I sell you on, rather something you invest in because you want it and instinctively know it can benefit you.
You can do nothing – and be right where you are 30 days from now, or you can be well on the road to the life you want and deserve. The choice is yours.
